Proposed byelaw changes: Annual General Meeting on 1 October 2019.

A notice of advice for the Institute’s 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) was distributed on 22 August 2019. On the tab on the right you can view the full Notice of Meeting for the AGM that will be held in Auckland, New Zealand on Tuesday 1 October 2019 at 18:00 hours (local time) to coincide with the Council meeting on 2 and 3 October 2019.

As you would be aware, over the last couple of years the Council has been reviewing the Institute’s strategic direction and brand position in the market.  The results of the review have been the subject of the previous two sets of changes to the Charter & byelaws in 2017 and 2018.  The changes proposed now are complimentary and are designed to see that the Council’s membership is fit for purpose and best able to oversee and secure the new direction of the international Institute.

The proposed governance related amendments largely revolve around period of office for members of the Council as well as consistency of governance practices between the Council and divisional committees.

From the tabs on the right you will find the detailed information that your Council believes will enable you to make an informed decision.

This year’s AGM will be a hybrid AGM with live streaming provided on a complimentary basis by StreamGate as well as pre-meeting and online voting and participation on the day to be provided on a complimentary basis by Lumi. I encourage all members to log-in and participate, or to vote online or lodge a proxy, if they cannot attend. Further information on live streaming can be accessed by the tab on right – AGM Guide & joining instructions.

Please consider this information carefully and engage further with your Division on these important matters. Your Council recommends that you vote in favour of these initiatives.
