The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe (ICSAZ) is the Zimbabwean division of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA). Formally part of the Southern Africa Division until 1992, ICSAZ was incorporated in Zimbabwe on 1 January 1971 by an Act of Parliament through the Chartered Secretaries (Pvt) Act.
The Institute is the professional home of members with a high level of competence in business administration, general management, accountancy, company secretaryship, taxation and corporate governance.
ICSAZ members occupy senior positions in both the private and public sectors of the economy and our qualifying examinations are widely recognised. We uphold the quality and standard of the Chartered Secretarial qualification and provide the required training and career support to all our members. Membership of the local Institute in Zimbabwe confers simultaneous membership to ICSA International.
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators in Zimbabwe now has more than 1000 members and more than 600 students at the professional program level. There are two membership classes – Fellowship and Associateship.
Our members, as Chartered Secretaries, serve in limited liability companies and also work in a variety of organisations and industries in the public, private and government sectors. In Zimbabwe, Chartered Secretaries are also eligible for registration with the Public Accountants and Auditors Board as Public Accountants (PAAB). Application for registration as aPublic Accountant is made through the Institute.
ICSA in Zimbabwe is a member of the Pan African Federation of Accountants (PAFA) as well as the Corporate Secretaries International Association (CSIA).
The Institute is a proud host of the annual Excellence in Corporate Governance Awards and runs an annual Chartered Secretary of the Year Award for members who have excelled throughout the year.
